SUMC is an active church in our local community and in missions around the world. Here’s what’s going on.
We will host our “Garden Project” VBS from July 26 through July 29, beginning each evening at 6:00 pm. We offer programming in three age groups: pre-K, grades K through 5, and middle school (entering grades 6 through 8). Anybody beyond eighth grade can be a gardener.
The Home Goods Community Closet has had a steady flow of persons in need.
The Men’s Ministry will be meeting on the back patio of Greg Lane’s house. Saturday mornings from 9:00–10:15 am.
Please come to our annual church picnic hosted by the Patton Library, where we break bread with our siblings from AME Zion Church.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is hosting their annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 14th at 1:00 pm.

As a body of Jesus Christ, we are a part of a body that is world-wide. We would like to keep that at the front of our hearts and minds as we worship with the understanding we are connected to people from all times and places.
Their first gathering will be on Thursday, June 18th, at 10:00 am for brunch at Jenny Lee’s Breakfast Nook.
The Sewickley Community Food Pantry has special need in June for pasta sauce, pancake syrup, soups, cold cereal, meals in a can (e.g., Spaghetti-Os), and crackers that come in sleeves (like Ritz or saltines).
Not everything that Jesus says leaves us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. What does he really mean when he tells us to hate our families, act as if we were slaves, or sell all our belongings and give it to the poor?
The Young Adult Group will meet next on May 31st. They will gather in the Simpson Room after the second service and decide on a place for lunch together.

The Tuesday Women served lunch to 40 residents at the Leetsdale Manor this week. The hot meal included chicken, pasta, salad, rolls, cupcakes, and beverages. God’s love filled the air with great conversations and laughter.
On Sunday, May 24th, we will observe Memorial Day. It is a time in which we remember fallen heroes who faithfully served our country throughout its history.
