SUMC Ministries
Sewickley United Methodist Church is not a building, but a people who have gathered to do God’s work in the world. We share our talents, our time, and our monetary donations to minister to each other, help those in need, and spread God’s word. Our ministries serve the Lord locally, nationally, and globally.
Children’s Bell Ministry
There are two groups for children to participate in the handbell ministry at SUMC: the Rainbow Ringers and the Junior Clocktower Ringers.
Children’s Church
We provide an entertaining, educational, and religious video or activity for kids ages 4 to 12 during both of our worship services.
Cookie Walk
Every November, the Simpson Room is filled with the aroma of thousands of home-baked cookies during this fundraiser and fellowship event.
Growth Groups
We have a variety of Bible and Christian study groups that meet in-person Sundays and throughout the week.
Haunted House
Since 2006, we’ve been scaring the bejeebers out of the Sewickley area. Our basement is haunted by more than just the Holy Ghost.
Lenten Dinners
Every Sunday evening during Lent, we gather for dinner and fun, family-oriented programs. Are you ready for Church Family Feud?
Light Up Night
As the village of Sewickley ushers in the Christmas holiday, we embrace our community with music, hot cocoa, and the light of Christ.
Patton Library
The Patton Library is a warm, inviting space dedicated to learning, reflection, and community.
Picnic
Summer is the perfect time to gather with our neighbors at AME Zion for food, fellowship, and games.
Pumpkin Patch
Come October, the church lawn becomes a rolling sea of orange for our biggest fund raiser.
Vacation Bible School
Join us in August for VBS. It’s fun! It’s educational! It’s inspirational! It’s free! Preschool through 6th grade.
