Grow in Community and Join the Block Party at VBS 2025!
Welcome to Block Party: Building God’s Community, an interactive Vacation Bible School where children use their creativity to discover Jesus. Activities will challenge children to dig into the Bible to find the way to Jesus. This journey of discovery has many twists and turns, so children will learn to ask questions, work with others, shine their light in the world, follow Jesus’s example of serving others, and trust Jesus when things go wrong. Please consider registering them for our free 2025 Community Vacation Bible School, sponsored jointly by Sewickley United Methodist, St. Matthews AME Zion, and St. Paul's Lutheran churches.
Our program will run from 6:00 pm until 8:15 pm, August 3 through 6, at SUMC. VBS is free for anyone from any community and will involve children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, with preschool and middle school tracks.
We will encourage growth through Bible stories presented by our pastors. We will introduce them to New Testament stories about Jesus and the amazing things he did. Kids will learn to ask questions, work together, trust Jesus, and follow his example of serving others.
We will also encourage growth through music, science, art, recreation, and snacks (because there is no doubt snacks make the world a more sharing, connected place).

Our VBS is offered later in the summer than most programs, but we like to think of our program as a path toward the new school year. Do you know a child who wants to enter the new school year feeling empowered with Jesus by their side? We would love to meet them!

We’re looking for adult and teen volunteers to invest in the imagining, preparation, and presentation of Block Party. Builders—people who are curious, adventurous, and think with their hearts—are needed to join the VBS volunteer team.
