This year’s Christmas Pageant, “Angels on Assignment,” calls for every angel in the building!
The Pumpkin Patch is coming, and we need your help. This year is going to be bigger than ever with two unloading days. The first full truckload will arrive on Saturday, September 19th at 9:00 am. And the 2nd, half-truckload, will arrive on Saturday, October 10.
We need a team of individuals to help unload pallets from the truck to the church lawn in preparation for pumpkin arrival on September 19th.
Join us on August 30th for a Planning Center training session, held after each service.
We are looking for volunteers to support our Nursery, Children’s Church, Youth Group, and Fellowship of the Cross.
Launch day is approaching, but there are still plenty of opportunities to participate in “The Garden Project,” our 2026 Community VBS.
June is Pride Month, and there are many opportunities for you to help SUMC be represented at different events!
We will host our “Garden Project” VBS from July 26 through July 29, beginning each evening at 6:00 pm. We offer programming in three age groups: pre-K, grades K through 5, and middle school (entering grades 6 through 8). Anybody beyond eighth grade can be a gardener.

Our “Garden Project” needs gardeners! We need people who find joy in nurturing young life through our Community Vacation Bible school. Registration for our Community VBS will open in a few days, but registration for volunteers is available now.
Our next distribution is Saturday, June 13th, from 9:00–10:30 am.
The Children’s Church kids will be planting flowers around the church on May 17th during both services.

A VBS team meeting is set for noon on April 12, in either the Simpson Room or the library. We will gather immediately after the 11:00 am traditional service. All are invited, especially those interested in volunteering at VBS or in preparation for VBS.
On Saturday, April 18th, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm, the Building & Maintenance Committee could use your help as we take some time to reddup (tidy and care for) our church grounds. Let’s work together to care for God’s house.
Our Community VBS team has chosen “The Gardening Project; Growing Through God’s Love” as our theme for 2026.
Throughout March, the FOTC will be accepting donations of candy and small gifts for our annual Easter egg hunt.
