A VBS team meeting is set for noon on April 12, in either the Simpson Room or the library. We will gather immediately after the 11:00 am traditional service. All are invited, especially those interested in volunteering at VBS or in preparation for VBS.
On Saturday, April 18th, from 10:00 am–12:00 pm, the Building & Maintenance Committee could use your help as we take some time to reddup (tidy and care for) our church grounds. Let’s work together to care for God’s house.
Our Community VBS team has chosen “The Gardening Project; Growing Through God’s Love” as our theme for 2026.
Throughout March, the FOTC will be accepting donations of candy and small gifts for our annual Easter egg hunt.
The Nurture Committee is looking to create a list of bakers or buyers who like to provide cookies or dessert whenever it is called upon for various receptions throughout the year. They’re also hosting several meals March 11–13th for an UMCOR training and looking for volunteers to help.
Our next distribution is Saturday 3/14 from 9:00–10:30 am.
Join us as we take down Christmas decorations from the Sanctuary, Parlor, Simpson Room, and Hallways on Sunday, January 11th after the 11:00 am service.
Please join us Sunday, December 13 at 10:00 am, in between worship services, to help wrap the gifts that were graciously donated for the children in the Kidcelerate program.
On Sunday, December 7 and 14, the Education Committee will have a tabling session with the intention of growing our volunteer team.
There will be a combined worship service at 10:00 am on Sunday, December 21, which will include our Christmas Pageant and be followed by Breakfast for Baby Jesus.
Walking the Talk Charity is taking toy donations for their free Christmas Toy Store, which will be held here at SUMC on December 13th from 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
Join us on Saturday, November 23, from 12:00–6:00 pm as we turn the sanctuary into a sparkling winter wonderland for Advent and Christmas.
On Saturday, December 6th, from 9:00–10:30 am, SUMC volunteers will distribute fresh produce to residents of Northview Heights (NVH).
The SUMC 18th annual Haunted House is coming soon and is looking for some fresh blood—I mean volunteers!
The Cookie Walk is coming on November 22 from 9:00–11:00 am. It’s the sweetest, fastest fundraiser the church has, and we need all of you and many kinds of cookies.
The Pumpkin Patch is back and in full swing! It opened on September 27 and will be open every day until October 31. With the Pumpkin Patch being open daily, we need more volunteers than ever to keep this vital fundraiser going.
The SUMC Haunted House is coming up quickly, and we need your help to spookify the basement!
When our Pumpkin Patch opens for customers next Saturday, September 27, we need volunteers to run The Patch every day from opening to dusk.
