There will be a Congregational Meeting held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 18th, to discuss how we can support the growth of the kids in our church, and those not yet here, through the hiring of a Coordinator of Christian Education.

The Children did an amazing job with the Lenten prompt, “Sensing God’s Grace.” Their artwork is still on display in the Simpson Room, and we highly encourage you to look at them, read them, and experience the feelings and thoughts they expressed on paper.
We are inviting our SUMC children and youth to submit something creative as we approach Easter.
The Add1 Lenten prayer window of the week, as selected by the 11:00 am Children’s Church group, is as follows: “Friends.”

Children and youth (preschool through high school) are invited to join the Education team for a “Back to School” party on the church lawn between services (10:00 am) on August 25th.
All the children are invited to join us Sunday (July 14) on the SUMC lawn at 10:00 am (between services) for a pre-VBS party.
Violin, Viola, and piano students from the studios of Leah Givelber, Rochelle Agnew, and Christopher Sforza will present two Spring Solo Recitals on April 27th at SUMC.
Our children and youth will be leading worship on Mother’s Day (May 12), and students are invited to share their musical gifts in the worship services.
Families are invited and encouraged to bring baskets or bags to the Easter egg hunt between worship services on Easter Sunday (March 31).
The Education team is hosting an Easter egg hunt between worship services on Easter. Children through fifth grade are invited to participate. Friends, family and guests are welcome to join us.
We look forward to recognizing our church family members who are entering 3rd grade this coming school year.
The SUMC Children’s Church teams are looking for adults and young people to join us in serving children during the 2022-2023 school year, which begins in September.

Rainbow Handbells for Pre-K to 3rd Grade and Chimes for 3rd Grade and up rehearse Sundays between services.
Come be part of the new children’s Junior Ringer Ensemble. Rehearsals are in the classroom between the nursery and Mr. Bill’s Sunday School room on Sunday mornings.
Children of all ages are invited to join the children’s ministry team for an Easter Egg Hunt between worship services on Easter morning (April 17).
We are so thankful to have a new nursery attendant beginning April 3rd.
We will have acolyte training on Sunday, February 27th, following the Traditional Worship Service.
On Sunday mornings in September, beginning September 13, the SUMC Education Committee will provide special programming for students in kindergarten through 5th grade during the 9 am contemporary worship service. There will be similar programming during the 11 am worship service.
