The Children did an amazing job with the Lenten prompt, “Sensing God’s Grace.” Their artwork is still on display in the Simpson Room, and we highly encourage you to look at them, read them, and experience the feelings and thoughts they expressed on paper. Below is one of the poems and drawings made by Maya Souza.
Thy sky turned purple, orange, and black
As if the whole world was falling apart
As if there was a giant deep crack
As if the earth was not a whole part
Jesus laying there on the cross
With two criminals beside him
Nobody believed that God was the boss
There was no light Everything was dim
They put Jesus in a cave
Said to never come out
But there was a doubt
An angel came to tell Mary the news
Mary started leaping and running like never before
She no longer had the blues
Everyone wanted to know more
Until they figured out that Jesus was alive for forty days
Ever since Jesus stays with us in our hearts on Easter day!
