SUMC Outreach and NVH and Produce Distribution

On Saturday, December 14th, eleven volunteers from SUMC distributed fresh produce in Northview Heights to 38 households with approximately 150 children. The produce was provided by Northside Food Pantry Advisors and included potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes, apples, bananas, oranges, lemons, celery, kale, and collard greens. The produce is purchased the day of distribution from Consumer Fresh Produce. We had a terrific group who efficiently and caringly distributed the produce within an hour.

This is a great way to get involved with a project that does not require much time but helps a community in need. Our next distribution will be February 15th. Look for the notice in the announcements, and let me know if you can volunteer.
