God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.Genesis 1:31
At SUMC, we celebrate the diversity of minds and recognize that every individual reflects God's intentional design. Our mission is to understand, support, and walk alongside individuals and families experiencing Autism Spectrum, ADHD, learning differences, sensory needs, and much more.
Here, differences are not just accepted. They are valued. And every person has a place.
We are committed to creating a church where everyone can participate, connect, and grow in their relationship with Christ—just as they are.
You belong.
Mission
To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by including and caring for those with all levels of ability.
Vision
To be present with the community for all those impacted by neurodiversity as a welcoming and growing church living out the radical love of Jesus.
Core Value: Inclusion
We believe in the sacred worth of all people. Therefore, we welcome, want and value all persons, regardless of age, ethnic and religious background, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation/expression, immigration status, and varying abilities.

Pastoral Message
Since I first arrived at Sewickley United Methodist church about six years ago, it was evident to me that the heartbeat of this church is inclusion. Our spoken messages and various ministries have all made clear that you are welcome here. However, our space has needed a little bit of work to be truly welcoming of persons with varying abilities. Though we are still working hard to make both floors accessible, a lot of work within our worshiping space has been done. You can find more information on what has been done in the information below. It is our hope you will feel the encouragement to worship Jesus just as you are. You belong here!
Sensory Accommodations
We offer sensory accommodations to support individuals who may need reduced noise, space to move, or a quieter setting.
Communication Accommodations
Our communication accommodations include tools that provide visual and structured support for understanding routines, expectations, and transitions.
