A Special Charge Conference will be held at 8 pm on Monday, February 10th in the Simpson Room for the sole purpose of setting the salary for the pastor to be appointed to serve Sewickley United Methdodist Church beginning July 1, 2020. While anyone may attend the Charge Conference and speak, only those persons on the 2020 Church Council may vote.

John and Edie Erkert encourage members of the congregation to join them SUNDAY EVENING at 6:30pm to view the movie “Just Mercy.” The film is based on the book by Dr. Bryan Stevenson, one of the most influential civil rights attorneys of our time.
When there is a 5th Thursday in a month, SUMC serves a hot buffet to approximately 150 people at Center for Hope, an outreach ministry in Ambridge. We are serving this coming Thursday, January 30. Our January choices are Chili, Chicken Tortilla, and Hearty Bean and Barley, as well as Sandra’s Hummus. Order forms are on the posters in the Simpson Room and in the back of the Sanctuary. All proceeds go toward the principal on our sanctuary renovation loan. Thank you for supporting our sale. Orders are due this coming Sunday, January 26.
Brrrr! The weather has turned cold, so consider cold weather foods for January 26th. Soup, stews, chili, etc. would all be welcome on a cold day. Muffin, bread, or biscuit mixes would make a nice addition to those items.
Human Relations Day is a powerful avenue to extend help and service to our local communities. It is about getting out of our comfortable social circles and offering love and care to those who need help in our neighborhoods and cities. It’s about walking with those who feel like everything in life is stacked against them.
WINTERJAM is coming to PPG Arena on January 18th, and SUMC will be there! Tickets are $15 at the door, and the concert features many artists, including Crowder. We plan to meet at the church parking lot at 4 pm on the 18th and car pool into the city. Feel free to meet us at the concert if you need to come later that evening. Thank you for your support of Miracle Sunday! Now it’s time for us to decide how to use our ministry money, and we need your help! Join us this coming Sunday, January 12 at noon, for a luncheon and brainstorming session to come up with ideas on how to use the Miracle Sunday Ministry funds.
