Have you ever seen a picture of Jesus with his arms folded shut? Typically Jesus is depicted with his arms wide open. What would it look like to be a part of a church that has her arms wide open?
Saturday, March 28th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Christ Church, Bethel Park, The Current will include inspiring worship, relevant messages, and energizing conversations, as we envision a fully inclusive and theologically diverse United Methodist Church! Together we can create an inclusive, relevant, Spirit-filled witness for Jesus Christ in Western PA. In preparation for the 2020 General Conference, this event will inform and organize participants who affirm ministry with and for LGBTQIA+ persons.
Speakers include Rev. Junius Dotson, Dr. Jane Ellen Nickell, Dr. Steven Tuell, Sarah Gallagher, Sarah Speedy, Rev. Dawn M. Hand, Rev. Eric S. Park, and our very own Mitchell R. Hortert.
The event is free to attend, and childcare is available for children from newborns to 5th grade.
