This Sunday, the United Methodist Church celebrates Human Relations Day as a means of furthering the development of better human relations by involving congregations in community and youth outreach programs and social justice ministries in the US and throughout the world.
In response to the dangerous tornadoes that swept across the country and extensive damage reported in many states, UMCOR has been in contact with Conference Disaster Response Coordinators and provided immediate early response funding immediately

UMCOR (UMC Relief Agency) and its partners are responding to disasters both around the world and in the United States, including the areas devastated by the December 11 tornados.
For December’s Food Pantry Collection, the suggested items are pasta sauces and pasta (or canned items like ravioli).
In December, on 3 separate days, as a small token of appreciation, SUMC will be providing meals for the hospital staff treating COVID patients at Sewickley Valley Hospital.

SUMC collected 82 coats plus 120 hats/mittens/gloves/scarves, with an additional 22 coats provided by two community partners.
Unwrapped gifts marked with the child’s name and code must be brought to church by December 12th.
Sunday’s offering will be divided between Doors to Hope and Red Stockings. Doors to Hope at Home supports 6 Western PA Conference agencies and Red Stocking supports the Health and Welfare Ministries of the Conference.
Right now there are UMC young people—who might not have had the resources to attend a school of their choice, or, for some, any school at all—who’ve been sent by you into the world God loves because of your giving to United Methodist Student Day.

Outreach is coordinating with The Bradley Center to provide gifts for 15 residents. The Bradley Center is a residential mental health treatment facility located in Robinson Township, which treats children ages 6 to 21.
Looking ahead, the Outreach Committee will provide Angel Tree wish tags for children and teens who are in residential mental health treatment at the Bradley Center, located in Robinson Township.
Annually, there are over 2,000 students, including a number from WPA, who receive millions of dollars in financial assistance through the UMC Office of Scholarships and Loans!
To help patrons of the food pantry prepare Thanksgiving dinner, Outreach is asking that you fill a grocery bag with the non-perishable items that are traditionally used at Thanksgiving.
