Across the country, the people of the United Methodist Church are serving the people God loves in Jesus’ name. We’re doing it at home, but so often we’d like to do more. We want to serve those in other places who are suffering; We want to offer spiritual words of hope and life; And we want to be well-equipped to do both!

But the reality for most of us is that our responsibilities—home, family, work—don’t allow us to engage with every need we’d like to meet. Right now there are UMC young people—who might not have had the resources to attend a school of their choice, or, for some, any school at all—who’ve been sent by you into the world God loves because of your giving to United Methodist Student Day. When you give generously, you are supporting these students as they prepare for a life that unites faith with knowledge.

Tyler Hungate, a recipient of a UM scholarship, grew up anti-Christian due to his home environment; having never attended church until 9th grade. While attending a summer camp, Tyler accepted Christ, which changed his life completely. As Hungate prepared to attend college,  his pastor recommended that he apply for the United Methodist Student Day Sunday Gift of Hope scholarship. After Tyler finishes his studies, he plans to attend seminary to become a UMC pastor. Indeed, in 2020, he became a youth pastor while still attending college, helping others grow in Christ.

Your gift to the United Methodist Student Day offering supports students like Tyler Hungate who desire to be world changers. Thank you for your generous gifts. You may give to this special offering by marking your gift accordingly or select “UM Student Day” with EasyTithe.
