In our broken humanity, color has been used to determine what people are capable of. But that is not God’s story. Let’s tell it like Jesus did.
Just because a person cannot legally be owned as property by another does not mean that they are free. Just because it is no longer legal to whip and beat persons of color does not mean it doesn’t happen anymore.
