“Let me tell ya ‘bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the moon up above and a thing called ‘Love.’” Those are the words of Jewel Akens and his oldie but goodie, “The Birds and the Bees.” That is the song I think of when we talk about God’s creation. But there is one part of the second creation story that often goes undiscussed: the four rivers. A close look at these rivers give us a deeper understanding of what God intended for our lives from the very beginning.
