When we measure strength, we often look at how much a person can lift. If we are not measuring physical strength, but looking at mental strength, it is often measured by how much stress a person can take. However, these measurements of strength are not Jesus’s standards. Jesus’s strength is found in his actions on the cross. Peter was a man of brute strength, but through Christ, he learned another way to deal with the difficulties he faced. When we say, “Jesus is our strength,” we understand there is another way to overcome the weight of this world and in our lives.
