Once again, we will be collecting any unused Halloween candy, as well as microwave popcorn, hot chocolate mixes, and Starbucks gift cards, to send to our college kids during exams. In addition to items for the boxes, we also need your college kids’ updated mailing addresses, along with their exam schedule for this year, so that we can send them care packages right before their exams start.
While the SUMC Boo Crew are all wearing masks, we regret that we are unable to provide a haunted house this year.
The grocery cart will be in the sanctuary, if we are worshipping in person, for October’s collection on October 25th, but you may bring items at time.
The United Methodist Women are thankful to be halfway toward our mission budget goal. We have only $1,980 to go by Dec. 31. All of the $4,000 we raise goes to fund UMW mission projects here at home and around the world.
The Sewickley UMC Luncheon Committee is offering takeout meals on the first Thursday of the month (when the salad luncheon would have been). Each meal is $10 and will make a perfect lunch or dinner.

On November 1, we will be honoring loved ones who have passed on since last year’s November 3 remembrance service. If you lost a loved one in the past year, please let the office know so we can honor your loved one during this special service.

Children’s Church will be live streamed right here at 11:30 am on Sunday for 10-15 minutes. “Rejoice Together!” is the theme. All kids are invited!
Despite the positive feedback that helped us decide to have a Pumpkin Patch this year, we’re struggling to find volunteers to run the Patch. Even today, we are only half covered. Please, please, please help us fill the volunteer schedule by clicking here.
We’ve just learned there is a minimum number of donuts FOTC needs to sell in order to qualify for this fundraising opportunity. They need to sell an additional 12 dozen over what has already been ordered to qualify. This Sunday is the deadline for orders. Wouldn’t you like some yummy, fresh, glazed donuts and to support this wonderful cause?
During the week of October 12th, SUMC Growth Groups, comprised of small group Bible / Christian studies, will begin and run for 6 weeks. The groups are open for anyone to attend.
Our pumpkins arrive this Saturday, October 10 at 9 am, and we need as many volunteers as possible to unload the truck. We will be unloading in a socially distant way, and masks are mandatory. Please lend your time to this important task!
Thanks to all who contributed either completed kits or funds. 62 kits were delivered to East Brook Mission Barn. While the contents may seem minimal, these and cleaning kits do positively impact persons and families in crisis.

We are invited to join with Pastor Hannah in reading through the Bible in a year. Download the outline, and read along. We will begin to read together on Sunday, October 4th. Beginning on November 2nd, I will send out a weekly devotional that engages some of the scripture we have read for that week.
The worship service will be live streamed beginning this Sunday, October 4th. That means when you tune in at 10 am via sewickleyumc.org, YouTube, or Facebook, the service will be happening as you watch it. Only the worship participants will be present in the sanctuary.
Doug Rummens passed on to glory earlier this week after a long battle. A private service was held. Please keep his wife, Linda, and the rest of the family in your prayers.
