Sewickley has a vibrant Black History that is often unknown. Join us as we visit the many sites that are part of this often overlooked History of Sewickley.
I would like to thank the Witness Committee and everyone (I counted 37) who attended the “Community Prayer Gathering: Racial Justice” event on the church lawn.
Join community members on the steps of Sewickley United Methodist Church on February 25th at 7:00 pm to lament racial injustice, heal our differences, repent of our own complicity, reconcile with those who are different from us, hope for a brighter future, and liberate ourselves from the shackles of racism.
On February 25th we will gather from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, starting on the front lawn for a time of communal prayer and then transitioning into the Simpson Room for refreshments and further conversation about how we can engage in Anti-Racism work.
Join us on the longest night of the year to remember and honor those who have lost their lives to gun violence.
SUMC is hosting the Memorial to the Lost Victim’s Quilt for the month of December.
Join us as we join SJP-Pitt, Students for Justice in Palestine, on Monday, October 7th at 5:30 pm at Schenley Park.
SUMC will observe Disability Awareness Sunday on August 18th.
We are participating in the Pittsburgh Pride Fest by hosting a table at the festival on the Northside on May 30 and 31st, as well as the parade on June 1st.
A 4-week mini-series that will expand your understanding of what it means to be an anti-racist and learn how you can work towards a more just and loving church and community. Classes meet once a week.
