As a newspaper person, I always loved writing and researching anniversary stories. One year, five years, 25 years… there is value in reflection. We have opportunities to acknowledge and reflect on two summer anniversaries.
The Good Neighbor Home Goods Community Closet will be returning on Saturday, July 5th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The Home Goods Community Closet has had a steady flow of persons in need. We continue to accept items for it.
The child was lingering in our new Home Goods Closet as his mother selected items for their new apartment in Coraopolis. “Can I have one of those?” he asked as he pointed toward one of the white ceramic gravy boats from Sewickley UMC Turkey Dinners past.
The SUMC Education team, as part of our Mother’s Day worship service at 10:00 am on May 11th, is providing an opportunity to praise God and honor the mothers and others who have provided for us through the years.

Now that SUMC has concluded the Haunted House and the Pumpkin Patch, we return our collective attentions to achieving, maybe even exceeding, those goals, which were laid on our hearts and minds by the Holy Spirit back in January.
