The SUMC Education team, as part of our Mother’s Day worship service at 10:00 am on May 11th, is providing an opportunity to praise God and honor the mothers and others who have provided for us through the years.
For Mother’s Day, our children and youth will be collecting items for the new Home Goods Closet, which opened in March in the former chapel at the base of our SUMC clocktower. We are targeting paper products, such as paper towels, toilet paper and tissues, and bedding, sheets of all sizes and pillow cases. We are also adding aluminum foil, saran wrap, wax paper and “Ziploc” bags of any size.
The Home Goods Closest serves families and individuals by offering household projects — including cleaning products and kitchen appliances — free of charge. All contributions must be new. The Closet is open Saturdays from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The Home Goods team is reporting increasing traffic on Saturdays, and the need to restock inventory is vital.
On Mother’s Day, and for the rest of May, look for our wagons at the front and rear of our sanctuary. The children will collect our donations, pray over them, and deliver them to the closet.
