Thank you for the outpouring of generosity during the Christmas season as we collected items and asked people to shop for children!
Looking ahead, the Outreach Committee will provide Angel Tree wish tags for children and teens who are in residential mental health treatment at the Bradley Center, located in Robinson Township. As you plan your holiday spending, please keep those children in mind.
A summary of the outreach activities SUMC conducted throughout Advent.
Unwrapped gifts marked with the child’s name and code must be brought to church by December 12th.
Outreach is coordinating with The Bradley Center to provide gifts for 15 residents. The Bradley Center is a residential mental health treatment facility located in Robinson Township, which treats children ages 6 to 21.
The SUMC congregation, with help from some community members, provided 78 coats, along with some cold weather accessories, for the City of Pittsburgh Police distribution in Northview Heights Housing. Additionally, gifts were purchased for 20 residents of The Bradley Center. Lastly, SUMC, along with community partners, provided bagged meals on December 21st and 23rd to the nurses of the Heritage Valley Sewickley COVID and ICU units.
The Bradley Center is a residential mental health treatment facility located in Robinson Township; church member Sarah Boward is a mental health therapist at the facility, which treats children ages 6 to 21. We are looking to provide gifts for 20 residents.
