The Fellowship of the Cross would like to thank everyone who helped make our Easter Egg hunt a success on a gray and chilly Easter morning. It is an SUMC “God-sized” goal to engage in intergenerational activities, and this truly took an intergenerational effort.
My name is Mandy Williams, and I am very excited to step into the Coordinator of Christian Education role. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better!
In January, our Leadership Board challenged us all to blur borders and respond to a God-sized goal. The board asked us to create new opportunities for “intergenerational engagement.”
A VBS team meeting is set for noon on April 12, in either the Simpson Room or the library. We will gather immediately after the 11:00 am traditional service. All are invited, especially those interested in volunteering at VBS or in preparation for VBS.

All are welcome to attend the annual Sewickley UMC Easter Egg Hunt, held on the church lawn between services on Easter Sunday.
Our Community VBS team has chosen “The Gardening Project; Growing Through God’s Love” as our theme for 2026.
Spanish Class has now been moved to Sunday nights at 5:00 pm in the Library.
The Spanish Class will be hosting another movie night on Saturday, March 28th at 7:00 pm in the Simpson Room. Our movie will be Encanto and will be dubbed in Spanish, but will have English subtitles.
“Men Together” has changed location and will now gather in the Church Library.
Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 am at the Carnegie Coffee Company. Join us for coffee, Bible study, and a time to connect.
The Community VBS team will gather for a planning meeting Sunday, February 22, at 12:00 noon in the SUMC library.
We have two new groups, one for men and one for young adults. Get involved!
There will be a new members class beginning February 23rd and ending on March 30th.
Keeping you up to date on what our ministries have been doing and what they are planning to do in 2026.
The group will meet every other week starting on Saturday, January 10, from 7:00–9:00 pm, and will be guided by Johnathan Burnett.
On Sunday, December 7 and 14, the Education Committee will have a tabling session with the intention of growing our volunteer team.
We’re excited to share that SUMC Education is now online to help you stay connected and informed about upcoming classes, events, and opportunities for all ages.
Joyfully, everyone is invited to watch The Christmas Box on Sunday mornings in the Parlor after the 9:00 am service.
As we dress the basement classrooms in Haunted House gear, we will gather upstairs for Children’s Church during both worship services for the remainder of October.
