Reflecting on the 2024–2025 Season: The 2024–2025 music season was one for the books! From joyful Sunday worship to community-wide events, we’ve had a year full of music, laughter, and togetherness. Here’s a look back—and glimpse ahead!
Wesleyan Voices of Sewickley
This year, the chancel choir officially rebranded as Wesleyan Voices of Sewickley, and with that came a fresh sense of purpose and presence! On a typical Sunday, we welcomed 11–15 singers, and for Christmas Eve, we were 28 strong!
Season Highlights included: Sang the 1st Sunday of each month; featured in Light-Up Night and the Community Christmas Concert; led worship for MLK Day, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday (at SPC); and launched our Pop-Up Summer Choirs—a casual one-Sunday ensembles to all.
Whether seasoned singers or first-timers, all are welcome to join in!
Clocktower Ringers
The Clocktower Ringers had another exciting and meaningful year! With 11 regular ringers and 5 subs, this dedicated crew brought handbell joy to worship and the wider community.
Season Highlights included: Played every 3rd Sunday and at all special services; participated in Light-Up Night, Christmas Concert, and MLK Service; took part in a full Memorial Day Music Weekend—from the Coast Guard Memorial to the Sewickley Parade, where “Bells on a Float” was a crowd favorite!
The bells are now polished and packed away, resting up for fall.
Looking Ahead: Goals for 2025–2026
As we plan for the year ahead, we’re excited to focus on a few major improvements to support our music ministry:
Complete the Pipe Organ Restoration, replace the aging synthesizer, and upgrade the sanctuary sound system.
Coming Soon: Charles Wesley Music Foundation
It’s finally happening! After lots of dreaming and preparation, the Charles Wesley Music Foundation will officially launch this summer. It will help support our music programs, instruments, events, and outreach—ensuring that music continues to be a vital ministry at SUMC for years to come.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and enthusiastic singing (or listening!) this season. At SUMC, we truly believe we’re building community through music—and we couldn’t do it without you.
In harmony,
Erik Kolodziej
