Thanks for Giving!

Thanks to many generous donors, SUMC provided the Sewickley Community Center food pantry enough Thanksgiving meal bags and grocery gift cards to allow approximately 20 families to put full Thanksgiving meals on their tables. The food pantry staff was overjoyed with this generosity because the need was so great this year.

Thank You!

A heartfelt thank you to all who helped make the Cookie Walk a success. Without all of the bakers, workers, and everyone who buys the cookies, we would not be able to accomplish what we do. Bless you.

I would like to give a very special thank you to Kelly Herman for her genuine excitement and hard work at organizing, directing, and bringing to life the story of a very special child!

Thank you, Kelly!!

Christmas Blessings

Thank you to all who donated toys and other gifts to 27 children at The Bridge’s Kidcelerate program (formerly Bethany House) and to the Walking the Talk toy drive. Hundreds of local children will have a brighter Christmas because of your generosity.

This was the first year that SUMC co-hosted the Walking the Talk toy drive with St. Matthew’s AME Zion Church. Over 270 families participated in the event. Parents or other caregivers were allowed to select gifts for over 700 children. Additional toys were offered to Kidcelerate and other local charities that serve children and families. Staffers were very appreciative of SUMC’s volunteers and its willingness to open up the Simpson Room for this year’s event.
