Based in Pittsburgh and founded in 2006, The Nyadire Connection (TNC) is a faith-based, all-volunteer, non-profit organization that partners with the Nyadire United Methodist Mission in Zimbabwe. The Mission includes a hospital, which has responsibility for six rural health clinics. These clinics serve as a critical medical care facility for women to deliver babies and for people with infectious diseases; patients often walk many miles to a clinic.

Yet, the clinics have been in disrepair, with no running water, flush toilets, or electricity, and not enough space. Several years ago, TNC began a program to renovate the clinics, in partnership with Nyadire and the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health. To date, five clinics have been rebuilt, on-time and on-budget. We’re now working on the final clinic, Chindenga, and we need your help.

A generous couple in the Pittsburgh District have made a challenge grant to TNC: They will match every dollar we raise up to $25,000, which means we can receive $50,000 if we “meet the match.” The total cost of rebuilding Chindenga is $350,000, so if we can “meet the match,” we will have made great progress. We ask you to prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible donation to TNC. Donations may be made through SUMC. Write "Nyadire Clinic" in the memo line. The deadline to make contributions toward the match is November 30.
