On Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 12:30 pm in the sanctuary, the Leadership Board conducted a Town Hall presentation for a proposal to make improvements and obtain a Line of Credit (LOC) to pay for them.
It was with genuine excitement at being together and enthusiasm for getting back to business that the Board convened on Wednesday, January 21st for our first meeting of the year.
We convened at Jumonville’s Christian Camp and Retreat Center to tackle a busy agenda that included our regular November monthly meeting, as well as the annual retreat to plan and program Sewickley United Methodist Church’s goals for 2026.
There is a lot of great work going on at SUMC, none more noticeable, however, than the renovations happening at and around the church as reported on by our various ministry teams.
Decisions have been made at the highest level of our government to eliminate many of the safety nets that help our most vulnerable. The programs that backstop hunger, homelessness, discrimination, abuse, deportation, and hate are programs that coincide exactly with Jesus’s ministry and his directive to us to “Love one another. ” In this moment, what is SUMC’s responsibility?
The Board meeting in December was an abbreviated one that concentrated on SUMC’s 2025 budget.
Thank you for trusting us, praying for us, and supporting us as we implemented the Leadership Board. This was year one of taking care of the administrative life of our church in a new way.
