Being transgender and Christian is a difficult road to walk. Society has difficulty accepting people who don’t fit a gender binary, queer culture has difficulty accepting people who still hold onto a faith that has caused them harm, and many Christians have caused, and still cause, much trauma by rejecting trans peoples’ true identities in God, even while calling on the same Lord. Trans Christians naturally cry out, “How long, O Lord” as persecution worsens. And yet, God reminds them to wait and trust. Even now, the mighty Triune God is raising up prophets and reminding the Church that those who welcome Trans Christians also welcome Jesus in their midst.
