There are so many similarities between Moses’s experience on Mount Sinai and the disciples experience with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. Both were pivotal, spiritual moments that shaped the life and identity of the children of God. But neither story ends with the mountain top. All characters in the story must eventually traverse down to the valley. It is what they take from the mountain top experience that shapes how they engage life in the valley. The same is true for us, too. There are many moments in our lives that will shape who we are and prepare us with responses to the difficult moments in our lives.
