How does a weary world rejoice? It makes room for others. You might have heard it said, “We don’t need bigger walls or fences; we need longer tables.” Born in an unexpected place, at an unexpected time, the King of heaven and earth did not make the entrance people were looking for.  However, what took place at the very beginning of Jesus’s life on earth was the breaking down of barriers and the opening of a bigger space. The manger made room for the rich and the poor, the young and the old, the wise and the unknowing, the local and the foreigner. All were invited, and all who came were changed for the better.
