Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.Psalm 119:105
We recognize that clear, predictable communication helps individuals feel safe, confident, and able to participate more fully. Our communication accommodations include tools that provide visual and structured support for understanding routines, expectations, and transitions. These supports can reduce anxiety, increase independence, and make church experiences more accessible. Our goal is to ensure that everyone can engage, connect, and know what to expect each step of the way.
Picture Schedule
A visual picture schedule will greet you upon arrival to help provide clarity, structure, and a sense of predictability for the worship experience. This support is designed to reduce anxiety, ease transitions, and help each person feel confident and prepared for what comes next.
Social Stories
Our social stories are available as downloadable resources to help prepare children for what to expect when coming to church for the first time. These simple, visual guides walk through common experiences such as arrival, worship, transitions, and meeting new people in a clear and reassuring way. They are designed to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support a positive and predictable church experience.
Picture Bible
Picture Bibles are available to support visual learning and help make Bible stories more accessible and engaging. These resources use illustrations and simplified storytelling to help individuals follow along, understand key themes, and connect with scripture in a meaningful way. They are designed to support comprehension, participation, and spiritual connection for a wide range of learners.
White Boards and Picture Sign Cards
Individual whiteboards are available for those who prefer to write rather than speak, offering a simple and flexible way to communicate thoughts, needs, and participation during church activities. ASL picture cards are also available to support communication for individuals who have hearing deficit or are non-speaking, helping to bridge understanding and promote inclusion. These tools are provided to ensure that every person has a meaningful way to express themselves and engage fully in our church community.
Audio Bluetooth Hearing Devices
An AV Bluetooth hearing device will soon be available and will connect directly to our sound system to support individuals who are hard of hearing. This accommodation allows for clearer audio transmission of worship, teaching, and announcements, helping to reduce background noise and improve understanding. It is designed to promote full participation and ensure that everyone can engage meaningfully in the service.
