As the Fellowship of the Cross formally launches our 12th Operation Christmas Child campaign, we remember that our shoeboxes from 2014 and 2016 were distributed in Ukraine, a nation now ravaged by war.
Our 2022 Sewickley community Vacation Bible School (hosted by SUMC in partnership with St. Matthews AME Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran) will revolve around a Food Truck theme and scripture from the Lord ’s Prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread.”
The nursery is temporarily moved to the loft in the Simpson Room while the flooring in part of the basement is replaced.
Your washed out cardboard drink cartons, preferably with the tops cut off, are appreciated by the Altar Committee. Please leave them in the box in the library hallway.

Our handbells were sent to be refurbished over the summer. After taking them apart, they were found to be in worse shape than we suspected. We are asking the congregation for donations to help us cover the additional cost, so the handbells may be properly repaired.
A celebration of African song to Afro-American Jazz is being held at Warren UMC Sunday, June 12 at 4 pm.
Fantastic camp experiences are available for children, youth, and families at the three wonderful United Methodist Camps in Western PA: Wesley Woods, Camp Allegheny, and Jumonville.
To date, donations received through SUMC designated for UMCOR’s response to help the people of Ukraine total $2,060.
On behalf of the residents of the Union Aid Building at 511 Centennial Avenue, THANK YOU to the Fellowship of the Cross, their leaders, and all church family youth for planting flowers in our gardens and containers on Sunday, May 22nd.
On their way to children’s church in late April, some Sewickley UMC kids carried armfuls of stuffed animals, contributed by members of our church family, to our Operation Christmas Child room. They were surprised to see all that has been contributed toward our 2022 campaign.
