Sewickley UMC is collecting Easter Bags for the food pantry. You are asked to take a bag with the grocery list attached, purchase the non-perishable items, and return the filled bag with the list attached. Completed Easter Bags and cash donations are needed by Sunday, April 10.
The luncheon committee would like to thank everyone for ordering takeout or dine in meals. We are sorry to say that the March luncheon will be the last one for this year.
To sponsor flowers to adorn the chancel on Easter, you may order online here on or before Wednesday, April 6.
The United Methodist Women (UMW) will meet on Sunday, March 13, immediately following the traditional service, for a luncheon meeting.
The imposition of ashes will be available at Wolcott Park, and there will be a 6 pm service at St. Matthews AME Zion. Pastor Hannah is preaching.
We, with Pastor Hannah's encouragement, have launched a monthly, Tuesday morning, prayer group. Our next gathering will be March 8, time to be determined, in the church parlor.
The Women’s Sharing Group meets on Tuesdays at 10 am in the church library.
St. Matthews AME Zion Church/Daniel B. Matthews Historical Society and The Sewickley Community Center have partnered to produce “A Conversation: Sharing History of Sewickley’s African American Community.”
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 4, 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm, at Cole Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Sewickley UMC on Saturday, March 5 at 11 am.

A community-wide concert of sacred and secular choral music of social justice with poetry and readings in honor of Black History Month, featuring The Essence of Joy Alumni Singers, Dr. Anthony Leach, Music Director, from Pennsylvania State University.
As we have done in the past and continue to strive to do, we will be gathering with our brothers and sisters from St. Matthews AME Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran Churches over the season of Lent.
We will have acolyte training on Sunday, February 27th, following the Traditional Worship Service.
