The community has been an integral part of a 2-year renovation project at St. Matthews (345 Thorn Street, Sewickley). The church invites the community to an open house on October 31, 1 – 4 pm, to tour the progress. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 412-741-4239.

SUMC and Church Union are coordinating to collect NEW winter coats, jackets, hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves for needy children (toddlers through teens) in the Pittsburgh area.
The Fellowship of the Cross is inviting everyone into our Operation Christmas Child packing opportunities this weekend. We will be gathering in the Sunday school rooms to pack shoeboxes from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, October 23, and again from 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday, October 24. Children will be given an opportunity to pack boxes during Children’s Church in the worship services on October 24.
The Nurture Committee’s annual Cookie Walk will be held on Saturday, November 20, 9 - 11 am, in the Simpson Room.
October’s suggested items are cans of stew, chili, or hearty soup.
FOTC is accepting OCC gift contributions through October 18, which can be brought to the collection bin outside the church office.
Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi invites you to attend the Installation Service for Pittsburgh District Superintendent, Rev. Deborah Ackley-Killian, Sun, Oct. 24, 4 pm, at Mt. Lebanon UMC.
The special offering on October 17th is designated for work within WPAUMC, including “VIMships” to those in need of funding for their mission work.

The Borough of Sewickley is holding their Halloween parade on Saturday, October 30th, at 10 a.m. We would like to get as many church members as we can to walk in the parade carrying posters and signs thanking the community for 20 years of support for our pumpkin patch.
The United Methodist Women wish to thank everyone who helped us have successful Sales for Missions in September.
