We were all looking forward to welcoming Pastor Hannah during her first worship service at SUMC. However, the restrictions set forth by Allegheny County make it necessary to keep our doors closed this Sunday and to return to online worship, at least for July 5. Below is a letter from Pastor Hannah about the closure.

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, UMCOR (the UMC disaster relief agency) continues in ministries of not only assisting following disasters, but also in its outreach around the world. Hygiene kits are no longer shipped outside of the USA, but there remains a great need for those kits within the USA.
Increased support to both the Sewickley Community Center Food Pantry and Red Bird Mission is only possible due to the SUMC Outreach Committee’s receipt of Miracle Sunday funding.
There are still Blessing Bags available for you to pick up to have in your vehicle to distribute to persons in need, such as those who are asking for money along your drive.

If you’ve heard about Creation Music Festival or thought about attending in the past, but weren’t sure it was for you, consider viewing Creation’s “Tribute to our Creator” Facebook livestream event starting on Friday June 26 at 6 PM and continuing on Saturday June 27th at the same time.
As we continue to live with changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative for us to take complete and accurate attendance each time we gather to worship. Volunteers are needed to record names and contact info as people come for worship. Please let Pam Honeychurch know if you can serve in this capacity this Sunday or upcoming Sundays.
This Sunday, June 28 at 11:30 am, everyone is invited to attend a VBS Planning Meeting in the Simpson Room. Lisa Jankowski will facilitate, and representatives from other churches will join us, as we are planning a community VBS. Key topics include: VBS themes, decorations and food, participation of other churches, assignment of roles, and next steps.
The Pittsburgh District Anti-Racism Team encourages United Methodists of the Pittsburgh District to participate in the denomination-wide focus Dismantling Racism: Pressing on to Freedom.
If SUMC is worshipping live, look for the cart on June 28th. You may also drop off donations weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when the custodian is available to open the door.
