Everyone is welcome as we gather in the church parlor to watch & discuss “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” on December 8th at 6 pm. The 2018 documentary is about the life and guiding philosophy of Fred Rogers, host and creator of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”
Pastor Russel will host the 13th annual Church Family Thanksgiving Dinner in the Simpson Room next Saturday, November 10, at 6 pm.
Everyone is welcome as we’ll gather in the church parlor tomorrow, Saturday, November 3 at 6 pm to watch & discuss “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” a 1967 American comedy-drama film starring Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier and Katharine Hepburn.
Calling all youth in grades 6-12! The SUMC Youth Group is planning a trip to the West Hills Escape Room on Saturday, Nov 17th, for a fun night of team building and problem solving followed by some fellowship time at Eat n Park afterwards.
Hallmark Cards started “Clergy Day of Honor” in 1992. Pastor Appreciation Day is the second Sunday in October, and all of October is known as “Pastor Appreciation Month.”

In order to offset costs of our camps and retreat centers, WPAUMC churches are asked to take a special Camping Sunday offering. The Bishop’s Camping and Retreat Initiative has also launched, with the campaign coming to local churches beginning in January 2019.
Ladies are invited to meet at 7pm in the parlor on Wednesday, October 10th, to decide the direction of the Book Club for this year.
Come join the 2nd annual hayride on Saturday, October 13th, at 6 pm, at Bill and Sandy Kuriger’s home (91 Hill Road, Sewickley). There will be lots of fun for kids and adults. The Film Club returns for a new season this Saturday, September 8 at 6 pm, with “I Can Only Imagine,” a 2018 American Christian drama film based on the story behind the MercyMe song of the same name, the best-selling Christian single of all time. We meet in the parlor. Everyone is welcome!
Please come join us on Saturday, August 25th, starting at 6:30pm in the Simpson Room for the screening of the documentary, “For the Bible Tells Me So,” which explores the intersection between religion and homosexuality in the U.S.
We are still in need of about 10 more Christmas trees to use as “forest” decorations for VBS next week. If you would be willing to lend us one (or more) for next week, you can drop it off at church this week and leave it in the youth room downstairs, marked with your name. You could also drop it off on Saturday, between 10 am and 2 pm, when FOTC hosts their car wash, or bring it to church on Sunday. We will need them by Sunday, at the latest, because we will begin decorating right after church. They can be picked up the following Sunday, 8/12.
The Creation Crew is in need of 1 or 2 family sized tents to take with us for our 4 days at Creation Festival starting June 27th. Please see Susie Moffett or Johnathan Burnette if you have a tent in good condition that you can lend. Also, we have 2 tickets still available if there is anyone interested in joining us last minute!
The final meeting of the "What Does the Bible Say?" small group study meeting at the Moffett’s home was to be held this Sunday, but will be pushed back a week to June 17th. We’ll be discussing The Way Forward Commission, the Book of Discipline, and the Reconciling Ministries Network.
Creation Fest is June 27 - July 1, and SUMC is headed to this amazing Christian music festival. Join us for 4 days of camping, fellowship, & some great Christian music.

This Sunday, May 27, we will observe Memorial Day, a time to remember fallen heroes & recognize our veterans and veterans of the Sewickley Valley.
We will watch Mister Roberts on Saturday, May 12 at 6 pm. We meet in the parlor and enjoy fellowship and discussion. This is the final gathering of the Film Club until September. Everyone is welcome!
This 5-week study, led by Mitchell Hortert, will be held at the home of Jack and Susie Moffett on Sunday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm, beginning this Sunday, April 15th.
