The Fellowship of the Cross would like to thank everyone who helped make our Easter Egg hunt a success on a gray and chilly Easter morning. It is an SUMC “God-sized” goal to engage in intergenerational activities, and this truly took an intergenerational effort. We appreciate the generosity of the Sewickley UMC church family in abundantly providing candy and prizes. We appreciate the Tuesday women’s group for, as they do every year, filling the eggs with sweetness and love. We appreciate Felicity and the SUMC youth group for rallying early to hide the eggs, and for chaperoning the children during the hunt. We appreciate Sophia G. for all she did to help the Easter Bunny join us. She is well-suited for the responsibility. And thank you, Laura G., for your part in bringing the Bunny to us. We appreciate the children who volunteered to donate some of their eggs to Maria, a first grader from Quaker Valley’s Osborne School who is dealing with illness. Maria’s basket was overflowing, and we had enough to fill a care package for her brother. We thank Pastor Hannah for delivering the basket. We appreciate the new members class, who, as they were being honored at a welcome reception, graciously shared the Simpson Room with us. We filled the room with families and children, excitement, and energy. We apologize for the distraction, but this is the family you’ve joined. We do things in a “God-sized” way. Welcome!
