FOTC youth received a letter from Ruvimbo Dirima, the student we sponsor in Zimbabwe. Our Candy-Gram Campaign in February, which our church family so generously supports, provided Ruvimbo’s tuition and a backpack full of school supplies. In her letter, she wrote,
I am doing well here in Muboko. I am a girl, aged 12, and am in grade 6. My teacher is Mr. Munemo. At school, and at home, I like playing netball, handball, and pada. I play with my friends, Brenda and Shalom. I like inventing a clay stove for baking. (Note: Pada is a hopscotch-like game, and netball is like basketball, but with no dribbling and no backboards.) When I am not at school, I like baking, washing clothes, and ironing. I also like cleaning the house. When I finish school, I want to be a teacher, and also do poultry keeping. My favorite animals are elephants and lions because they are kept in game parks. I stay with my mother and sisters in Zisenqwe Village. I help my mother in the kitchen and in the garden. As a family, we go to Zvakazaruwa Church.
