May brought us so much joy! And not so much great weather… Leap of Faith kicked off May in Washington, PA at Faith UP Church for one of their Friday night concerts. It was a rainy night, but a few faithful folks came out, and you could feel the spirit in the air. It’s always fun when we get to play from our album and introduce the band to a new audience. It was an older crowd, I will say, and by the end, they were on their feet with us, praising!
We celebrated Mother’s Day with the children leading service and making us learn a new song! “That’s Who I Praise” by Brandon Lake. The whole service was so well put together, thanks to the education team. We had some guest musicians with us on a few songs: Josef on Cello, Ben W. on guitar, Dom on drums, and Frankie and Lena on dueling pianos! This service is always a favorite and oh so special. And those dancers!!!
We blessed the beasts, and it’s just the best day in church! We should have puppies every week. All creatures…
The weekend of Memorial Day, we were small but mighty, which gave us a chance to really focus on vocals and our sound. And I think it went well! Without drums or a bass, we made a few songs sound a little different with stripped down versions.
Looking forward to June and the summer!
