Overview prepared by Jere Cowden and presented by Ed Bailey of the UM Foundation

Did you know that about 2/3 of those who should have a will or estate plan do not? On Tuesday, June 24th at 5:00 pm, Ed Bailey of the UM Foundation will be leading a program appropriate for everyone who has property and/or assets, including families with minor children, single people, and senior citizens. What will be covered?

  1. Why create a will or estate plan? Hint: We will all someday leave life on this earth.

  2. We cannot take our assets with us. If we do not have written plans to distribute our money and possessions, the process will be messy and costly for our remaining loved ones.

  3. Ways to simplify the planning process

  4. Why parents of younger children need a written plan

  5. Ways we can tax effectively, include SUMC and other charities in planning

The presentation will be approximately 40 minutes with Q&A to follow. A light meal will be served, so please RSVP to the office by phone 412-741-9430 or by email admin@sewickleyumc.org so that food can be planned accordingly.
