It’s “care package” time for our SUMC college students, and we want your leftover Halloween candy! The Fellowship of the Cross, through the support of the SUMC family, sends care packages to college students in early December as they study for final exams.
In addition to candy, we are accepting donations of microwave popcorn, hot chocolate mixes, tea bags, and small packages of sweet or salty snacks. We also include Starbucks gift cards in the care packages and are looking for people to help cover the cost of those cards.
For more information, please connect with Grace Rogansky, Pamela Mayo, or Bill Utterback.
Updated Addresses for Our College Students
We also need updated addresses for all the college students, including graduate students, in our church family. Anyone in your heart who needs some sweet and salty encouragement will receive a box. This includes your grandchildren, God-children, or anyone you’ve loved since they were children. Those living at home can receive a care package. Those attending part-time can receive a package. Send the updated addresses to utterbac@earthlink.net.
Please help us let our college crew know they are loved as they enter the most stressful time of the school year. Donations can be left in the FOTC boxes in the narthex and in the hallway leading to the library. Monetary donations are also gratefully accepted, and we will purchase treats for the care packages.
