To help patrons of the food pantry prepare Thanksgiving dinner, Outreach is inviting you to fill a grocery bag with the non-perishable items traditionally used at Thanksgiving. Purchase the items listed below for a small or large family, and return the filled bag to SUMC. Attach the grocery list to the bag to identify whether the bag is for a small or large family. Monetary donations are also needed to purchase grocery gift cards so that the families may purchase turkey and other perishable items. Monetary gifts may be made with your regular offering or through SUMC’s VANCO eGiving portal — please indicate “Thanksgiving Bags.” All donations are due no later than Sunday, November 19th.

Thanksgiving Bag – Small Family

  • 2-3 cans vegetables

  • 1-2 cans fruit

  • 1 bottle cooking oil

  • small can yams

  • 1-2 cans/jars turkey gravy

  • 1 pkg boxed stuffing mix

  • 1 muffin or roll mix

  • 1 small can pumpkin or pumpkin pie mix

  • 1 can evaporated milk

  • 1 small box instant mashed potatoes

  • 1 can cranberry sauce

Thanksgiving Bag – Large Family

  • 4-5 cans vegetables

  • 2-3 cans fruit

  • 1 bottle cooking oil

  • 1 large can yams

  • 2-3 cans/jars turkey gravy

  • 2 pkgs boxed stuffing mix

  • 2 muffin or roll mixes

  • 1 large can pumpkin or pumpkin pie mix

  • 2 cans evaporated milk

  • 1 large box instant mashed potatoes

  • 2 cans cranberry sauce
