Zoom Book Study

Join the 3-week study of Heather McGhee’s book, “The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together.” This study will be led by Jay Pendleton and Rev. Don Blinn, Jr. Thursdays, 6 pm, October 6, 13, & 20. Please contact Jay or Don to register and secure the Zoom link. For the first session, please read the introduction through chapter 3 of the book. Session 2 will cover chapters 4 to 6, and session 3, chapter 7 to the end.

Movie & Dinner

Movie outings followed by a dinner and discussion time together are being planned. The first will be to see the movie “Till” on Oct 15th, and the second will be to see “Wakanda Forever” on Nov 12th. Details will be announced soon.

Antiracism Summit

The Western Pennsylvania Conference Commission on Race and Religion invites you to register for the October 20 – 22 WPA Antiracism Summit, “Towards an Anti-Racist Church: The Intersection of Faith and Race.” The 3-day summit features speakers, panels, cultural workshops, Bible study, reflection, discussion, presentations, soul care, gallery of videos of church and community groups engaged in antiracism and opportunities for action, a resource list, and worship! Opening worship is being led by Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi. The summit will be held in-person and online and is geared toward those who are currently involved in anti-racism learning and are ready to move into action and/or those currently involved in advocacy activities.
