On Sunday mornings in September, beginning September 13, the SUMC Education Committee will provide special programming for students in kindergarten through 5th grade during the 9 am contemporary worship service. There will be similar programming during the 11 am worship service.
The children will leave the service after Pastor Hannah’s children’s message and spend time in interactive stories of Jesus, games, crafts, and service projects. If weather permits, we may spend some of our time on the lawn and playground.
There will be no children’s, middle school, or high school programming during the traditional 10 am education hour in September.
Our SUMC 2021-2022 children and youth programming will launch in October and run through May. Details have not yet been determined. The Education Committee is welcoming volunteers to assist with all of our programs. Contact Bill Utterback or Pastor Hannah. We will adhere to all SUMC masking and distancing protocols.
For the month of September, at the 11 am service, we will be learning about FOLLOWING JESUS. We will talk about this and watch themed videos, but the big surprise is that we will be tracing kids bodies, and they will paint "themselves," and these will be used with the theme FOLLOW ME as we decorate the Sunday school hallway. So, please dress in clothes that can take a bit of watercolor paint!
