All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:44-47

This picnic is a delightful opportunity to visit with our church family, as well as our neighbors at AME Zion. We join together for food and fun. Gathering time begins at 1:00 pm, when we adorn our picnic tables with red and white check tablecloths. The charcoal gets fired up on the grill, and lemonade is chilling in the coolers. By 1:30, everyone arrives for prayer and the breaking of bread. Hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken wings, and veggie burgers are ready to serve. There are a variety of salads and sweets brought by all the guests. No one goes home hungry.

Kids of all ages should come with water shoes and a towel for walking and exploring in the nearby creek. Feel free to bring a bucket to collect salamanders. Kids might also get wet playing one of our games, which in past years have included water balloon tosses, three-legged races, egg tosses, egg races, and scavenger hunts. Everyone gets a prize. Adults have their fun too with our traditional game of Bingo. Yes, there are prizes for the winners.

There is plenty of shade space available under the shelter or from trees. If you want to have some sun, bring a blanket and lay out in the grassy field. There is a little something for everyone with great fellowship for all.
