02:32:07 pm, by Sandra Lane Email

If you’ve always wanted to try hiking but were not sure where to start - here’s your chance! Our resident outdoor adventurer, Diane Lally, will lead us on a beginner’s level hike on Saturday, July 18. We will meet at the church parking lot at 9am and walk over to War Memorial Park. The length of the hike, including the walk over to the park, will be a total of 2 miles and one hour in length. Wear sneakers and bring along a bottle of water if you like. Please let Sandra know you will be coming via e-mail: slane819@yahoo.com or use the sign up sheet in the back of the sanctuary. When you are done hiking -plan a shopping trip to the farmer’s market ( at St. James) and get yourself some fresh veggies!

Monday Morning Devotion!

12:21:36 pm, by Sandra Lane Email

The great interpretive dancer Martha Graham was quoted as saying, “There is vitality, a life force, an energy… that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one of you… this expression is unique". Think about it. You are you and nobody else. You are alive physically, and if you are a follower of Christ, you are fully alive spiritually as well. There is nothing you can’t do through him… out of your own vitality and originality. I love the word “energy". It is the capacity for action that lifts us out of the chair and moves us forward and it’s the intensity of that energy that makes us produce. Let’s say we want to do something but have no energy for it Like putting up book shelves, writing a story, losing weight or even making dinner. Unless our motivation gets sparked, we’ll sit there all day and nothing will happen.
Here are a few tips to help:
-First of all, picture how it will look when you’re finished.
-Second, tackle the small areas in manageable increments.
-Third, clean up as you go so you have a sense of accomplishment.
-Fourth, sing and dance while you work.
-Fifth, remember the Lord is with you and He will see you through.
-Sixth, Celebrate being done!
The hardest part of any project is the first step. So, get up and get going. The garage may look so good when you’re finished, you’ll the paint house!

Spinal Care Lecture- follow up

08:53:39 am, by Sandra Lane Email

FYI: Thanks to Dr. McFadden who provided easy to understand information on how our spine is the core to our overall well-being and health. I just wanted to share one item he mentioned regarding spinal health and sleep; the best sleeping position is on your back with a supportive pillow under your neck so your head is in alignment with the rest of your spine. If you like to sleep on your side, the same rule applies with pillow support, keep your head in proper alignment.

Motivating Thought for your Day!

06:24:05 am, by Sandra Lane Email

We cannot choose how many years we live but we can choose how much life those years will have.
We cannot control the beauty of our face but we can control the expression on it.
We cannot control life’s difficult moments but we can choose to make life less difficult.
Too often we try to choose and control things we cannot.
Too seldom we choose to control what we can… our attitude.
